CASSETTE Ρ L A Y A x NIKE

Since the launch of Cassette Playa aka Carri Mundane’s 2007 Spring/Summer “L.S.I” show, in which a pair of Cassette Playa Air Maxes were spotted, Nike has held a close relationship with the London-based designer. Having seen the Nike Split Windrunner installation at Selfridge’s this year and a pair of Blazer’s for the 2008 Spring/Summer “Future Primitive” show, it was only natural to make this latest project a public release. Hooking up with the Sportswear division, the Cassette Playa x Nike Blazers will be launched this Friday December 12th at the Nike Sportswear 1948 concept store in London. The release will take place between 6 and 11pm with Dover Street Market having a limited run available on Monday December 14th. Additional top Nike accounts worldwide should expect a release soon as well.

Nike Blazer Premium “Woodgrain”

Nike’s latest rendition of the Blazer is seen here as the basketball icon takes shape under a strong woodgrain influence. The shoe features a black upper with subtle tonal woodgrain hints on the heel and toebox. The most visible instance of woodgrain use is evidenced on the midsole while a small highlighting orange stitch is seen along the side. Aside from the Blazer, an Air Force II is also set to release very soon as well.
